Elverson Vasey Welcomes New Attorney, Mikaila Sward
Elverson Vasey is excited to announce the addition of attorney, Mikaila Sward, to the firm! Mikaila was recently admitted to the Iowa Bar and is excited to meet new and existing clients.
Mikaila grew up in ʻAiea, Hawaiʻi, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado in 2020. She went on to earn her juris doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School, where she served as a Senior Associate Editor of the Colorado Law Review and as a Legal Writing Teaching Assistant. Her love of writing is not limited to the legal field; she was honored with the Jennifer Lee Shelton Scholarship for a creative piece of work she submitted while in law school.
Mikaila was also an active leader in the Women’s Law Caucus, serving as secretary and as a two-time Co-Chair of Women in Law Day. During her tenure, the event received national recognition when the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations honored the organization with the Women’s Law Student Association Award.
After law school, Mikaila relocated to Iowa to be closer to her family, who had returned from Hawaiʻi to their home state. She was admitted to the Iowa State Bar in 2025.
