Adam was born in Iowa City, Iowa in 1978. He attended Knox College where he was a member of the football team and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2001. In 2007, he received his Juris Doctorate with high honors from Drake University. Adam was admitted to the Iowa State Bar in 2007 and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern and Northern Federal Districts of Iowa.

Adam has dedicated his legal career to representing insurance companies in a wide variety of areas. He is well practiced in insurance defense cases of all types, insurance subrogation, insurance coverage opinions, bad-faith insurance litigation, and a variety of other insurance-related matters. Adam handles cases for a wide variety of insurers, including automobile insurers, homeowners' insurers, general commercial liability insurers, and dram shop insurers.
